There are generally three types of conveyor belt joints, namely mechanical joints, cold glue joints and hot vulcanized joints. The strength of the conveyor belt joint is lower than the strength of the belt itself. When the conveyor belt uses a mechanical joint, the joint strength can only reach 40-50% of the belt strength; when the conveyor belt is bonded with cold glue, the joint strength can reach 60-70 %; If the thermal vulcanization joint is used, the joint strength of the conveyor belt can reach 80-90% (the joint method is correct and there is no quality defect).
The strength of the joint of the conveyor belt is relatively low. If the bonding method is not correct, the strength of the conveyor belt joint will be even lower; if the knife is opened, the next layer of canvas is damaged when the conveyor belt is polished, the polishing is excessive, the overlap length is insufficient, and the number of steps Insufficient, poor rubber performance of the joint or self-vulcanization failure, excessive grinding of the wire rope, rust of the wire rope, etc., the strength of the joint will be greatly reduced. During use, it is easier to disconnect and crack the conveyor belt joint. At the same time, if the conveyor belt does not use sealant or the direction of the joint is wrong, the conveyor belt joint (face glue part) will also crack.
