First, the choice of covering layer.
The main components of the covering layer are various rubbers and plastics. In most climates, the rubber can work normally with an inclination angle of no more than 18°, while the normal operation of the PVC tape is below 12°.
PVC is not as resilient as rubber, but has better flame retardancy, unloading and cleaning properties. The increase in the thickness of the cover layer is beneficial to improve the impact resistance and wear resistance of the conveyor belt.
Especially today cotton canvas cores have been replaced by synthetic fiber fabric cores. The performance of the belt core has been greatly improved, and the thickness has been relatively reduced. In order to improve the overall performance of the conveyor belt, it is necessary to increase the thickness of the cover layer accordingly to give full play to its advantages and improve the service life of the conveyor belt. But the lower cover layer is too thick to increase the running resistance of the conveyor belt.

Steel cord conveyor belts should use vulcanized joints; multi-layer fabric core conveyor belts should use vulcanized joints; fabric whole core conveyor belts should use adhesive joints, or mechanical joints; layered fabric core conveyor belts should use stepped joints; Conveyor belts can have one or more vulcanized joints depending on the tensile strength grade. By choosing the conveyor belt correctly, it can not only ensure the stability of the conveyor belt in operation, but also greatly reduce the cost and unnecessary trouble.
