The belt conveyor has strong conveying capacity, long conveying distance, simple structure and easy maintenance, and can easily implement programmed control and automatic operation. The continuous or intermittent movement of the conveyor belt is used to transport articles below 100KG or powdery or granular articles. It operates at a high speed, stably, with low noise, and can be transported uphill and downhill.


Belt conveyor is a kind of machinery driven by friction to transport materials in a continuous manner. It is mainly composed of frame, conveyor belt, idler, roller, tensioning device, transmission device, etc. It can transfer materials on a certain conveying line from the initial feeding point to the final unloading point to form a material conveying process. The utility model can not only carry out the transportation of broken materials, but also carry out the transportation of finished articles. In addition to pure material transportation, it can also meet the requirements of the technological process in the production process of various industrial enterprises to form a rhythmic flow line.


Belt conveyor is also called belt conveyor. The conveyor belt moves according to the friction transmission principle, and is suitable for conveying powder, granular, small pieces of low abrasive materials and bagged materials that are easy to take out, such as coal, gravel, sand, cement, fertilizer, grain, etc. The belt conveyor can be used in the ambient temperature range of - 20 ℃ to+40 ℃, and the temperature of the material to be conveyed is less than 60 ℃. The machine length and assembly form can be determined according to the user's requirements. The electric roller can be used for transmission, and the drive device with drive frame can also be used.


Transmission principle and characteristics


⑴ The traction of the belt conveyor is transmitted through the friction between the drive drum and the belt, so the belt must be tensioned with a tensioning device to make the belt have a certain initial tension at the separation of the conveyor drum.


(2) The belt runs on the idler together with the cargo. The belt is both a traction mechanism and a bearing mechanism. There is no relative movement between the cargo load and the belt, eliminating the friction resistance between the belt and the cargo load during operation. Since the idler is equipped with rolling bearings, the belt and the idler are subject to rolling friction, so the running resistance is greatly reduced, thus reducing the power consumption and increasing the transportation distance. For a belt conveyor, its traction transmission capacity is determined by the belt tension, the wrap angle of the belt on the drive drum and the friction coefficient between the belt and the drive drum. 


To ensure that the belt of the belt conveyor does not slip on the drive drum and operates normally, corresponding measures shall be taken according to different situations in production practice. The transmission capacity of traction can be improved from the following aspects:


Increase the tension (initial tension). During the operation of the belt conveyor, the belt will stretch, causing the traction force to drop. Therefore, according to the situation, use the tensioning device to properly tighten the belt, increase the belt tension, so as to improve the traction force.


Increase the friction coefficient. The specific measures are: protect the wood lining or rubber and other gaskets covered on the drive drum to increase the friction coefficient; on the other hand, reduce the water coal to prevent the friction coefficient from decreasing.


(3) Increase the enclosure angle. Due to poor working conditions and large traction force required for underground belt conveyor, double drum drive is often used to increase enclosure angle.
